miso squash
Is this a good Japanese dinner?

So i got this really awsome Japanese cook book from a used book store and im trying to figure out a good meal to make! Im not sure what kind of things go well together so if u have any suggestions please tell me! :D I would like to make Asparagus-chicken rolls as the first course (very small)..rice logs..a fruit salad (just some mixed fruit)..for dessert I’d like to make this Dragon fruit with cranberry Kanten but im not sure if i will be able to find a dragon fruit :( but i am going to the whole foods market today so hopefully i find some!! :D and then i need a main course..so i wanted to make either beef steak with sesame-miso sauce and some eggplant zucchini and squash..or simmered beef with potato and green beans….do u think potatos and veggies will go with the fruit salad? im really not sure!! what do u think? any suggestions? thanx!! ^.^

The book sounds like it has very Americanized Japanese food recipes. But if that’s what you want to eat and it tastes good, then enjoy. Usually miso sauce is served with fish, vegetables or soup. At least you have alot of fruits and vegetables – which Japanese typically serve. I would eliminate the potato. Just my opinion.

Miso Soup…kinda
